About the Author
I'm Constantine Leith, and I'm part of what people call the sandwich generation. My kids haven't fully left the nest, and my parents have started to need help. I learned how real the danger is when scammers posing as tax inspectors talked one of my parents into handing over cash kept at home, all while claiming I was on the other line, approving every step. I wasn't. The money never came back.
Nobody hands you a manual for this stage of life. Over the past few years I've dealt with things I never expected to become my job: learning to spot scams, sometimes the hard way, making a home safer for someone who isn't as steady on their feet, keeping track of medications, and, maybe hardest of all, adjusting to the quiet role reversal. The people who once took care of every need of mine now sometimes need me to take care of theirs. That takes some getting used to, on both sides.
I started writing Simple Safety Guides because I wanted the kind of book I couldn't find when I needed it: clear, practical, and respectful. Not written for experts, and never talking down to anyone. Every guide is based on real situations and checked against reliable sources, so you can trust the advice and use it right away.
The Scam Survival Guide for Seniors is the first book in the series. More are on the way, covering home safety, caregiving, and the everyday challenges families face as parents grow older. If you're a senior looking out for yourself, or an adult child looking out for a parent, these books are for you.
